Upgrading People for Upgrading Technology

Back to Basics

Weird_keyboard I have been convicted.  So many people I visit can't believe how fast I can move around a computer.  Well I have been silent too long.  I'm going to start a series of posts about those scary KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS that you never got around to using.  The thing about these is that you can use them pretty much anywhere so JUST TRY THEM and you'll be getting more work in less time in NO TIME! SO here we go: This is the one I use the most often. If I wasn't married, I would marry this keyboard shortcut.  I might be a little obsessed. ALT+TAB then release This will switch from your current program or window to the one you last used.  In Windows 7, this also includes the desktop.  In Windows Vista/Windows 7 you can also press ALT+TAB and while you are still holding ALT keep pressing TAB until you select the program you wish to switch to, or (while still holding tab) click the program with the mouse!  If you really want to get fancy, after you ALT+TAB to go BACKWARDS in  the list of open programs press ALT+SHIFT+TAB and continue pressing ALT+SHIFT while you TAB backwards through the list of open programs. You can also use the TAB and SHIFT+TAB key when you have a window open with multiple "tabs" across the top of the page. What a great trick huh? That is a great place to start and we'll leave it at that for tonight. Have fun tabbing around and I'll be back again soon for some more basics on the PC. 'night!
